Eric’s version:
Apparently, when you meet a couple for the first time, the most popular question is, “How did you two meet?”. Well, either it’s a popular question, or we’re an unlikely seeming couple, because we get that question a lot. Well, in case you are curious, too, the short answer is through eHarmony.com. If you want the short answer, then I guess you’re done. If you want the longer answer, keep reading.
Like every good American boy, I always knew I wanted a wife and some kids (I never could make up my mind how many, though). Though, I was always pretty sure the “test drive” option wasn’t for me. (Test Drive = try all the options in your price range to find the one you want to commit to…common, but time and resource consuming.) So, I decided to just let God provide in His time. I guess I never actually thought He would actually wait till my 30s to provide.
After I graduated from college in 2002 (I managed to cram a bachelors degree into ~200 semester hours and 7 years…). I was “persuaded” by Brenda Wallace (you should all try unpersuading Brenda Wallace of something sometime…) to move to Natchez, MS, to serve as Minister of Music at Immanuel Baptist Church. Looking back I can see God’s hand moving me there, too. (So “Mrs.” Brenda…you are now officially one of the Hands of God in my life. Thanks!)
